Rebranding and a fresh new website for bespoke architectural lighting manufacturer.

Transmitt is an Australian lighting studio founded by designer Shaun Dudley, whose lifelong fascination with light has shaped a practice built around sculptural form, material integrity and the transformative effect of illumination.

With more than 30 years’ experience working with light, the Transmitt team has become a trusted collaborator for leading architects, interior designers and hospitality operators, creating bespoke luminaires for some of Australia’s most refined residential, commercial and hospitality interiors.

Our role was to refresh the Transmitt identity and design a new website that could better express the quality, craft and quiet confidence of the studio — positioning the brand not simply as a lighting supplier, but as a design-led collaborator working at the premium end of the interiors market.

THE CHALLENGE

Transmitt had an established reputation within the design and hospitality industries, but the existing brand and digital presence no longer fully reflected the calibre of the work, the depth of expertise behind it, or the sophistication of the clients and collaborators they served.

The challenge was to create a brand and website that could hold several things in balance: the precision of engineering, the warmth of hand-finished materials, the artistry of sculptural lighting, and the commercial clarity required for architects, designers and trade clients.

The new identity needed to feel elevated without becoming decorative, crafted without feeling nostalgic, and premium without losing the practical confidence of a working design and fabrication studio.

It also needed to support the evolution of the business — from bespoke lighting commissions into a clearly presented product range, with a more structured pathway for collection enquiries, trade access and design collaboration.

REDESIGNING THE VISUAL IDENTITY TO
REFLECT PREMIUM Positioning

The refreshed visual identity was designed to bring greater clarity, restraint and refinement to the Transmitt brand.

Rather than imposing a highly graphic identity over the work, the design system was intentionally pared back, allowing the luminaires, materials and atmospheric photography to lead. Typography, spacing, colour and layout were treated with the same discipline as the products themselves — quiet, precise and carefully proportioned.

The result is a brand expression that feels more aligned with the world Transmitt inhabits: architecture, interiors, hospitality and considered residential design. Warm metallic tones, restrained layouts and a more editorial visual language help communicate the tactile quality of the materials and the sculptural nature of the lighting.

The website was developed as both a brand experience and a practical commercial tool. It presents the collection clearly, while also allowing room for storytelling, trade enquiries and bespoke collaboration. The structure supports the way architects and designers actually engage with a lighting studio — exploring the range, understanding the story, and initiating a more considered conversation.

The refreshed identity and new website reposition Transmitt as a premium Australian lighting studio with a strong design voice, a clear commercial offer and a digital presence that better reflects the quality of its work.

The project gives the brand a more sophisticated platform for growth — one that honours the craft of the studio, communicates its expertise to architects and designers, and presents its luminaires as enduring objects shaped by material, precision and light.
