CRINITIS RESTAURANTS
Brand identity, campaign creative and hospitality marketing for one of Australia’s most recognisable Italian restaurant groups.
Criniti’s is a high-energy Italian-Australian restaurant group known for generous food, large-format dining, family occasions and a strong sense of theatre.
With a menu built around woodfired pizza, pasta, ribs, seafood, cocktails and classic Italian hospitality, the brand needed a visual identity that could carry the scale, confidence and appetite of a growing restaurant business.
Ahead of a major expansion into new markets, Criniti’s engaged Ludbrook Agency to lead a full rebrand. The brief was to refresh the brand without losing the warmth, family energy and sense of abundance that had made Criniti’s such a memorable dining experience.

The Challenge
Criniti’s was already a known restaurant brand with a loyal customer base and a strong personality. The challenge was not to reinvent it completely, but to give the business a more polished, flexible and scalable identity system that could support future growth.
Hospitality branding needs to work hard. It has to attract diners, communicate appetite, support bookings, build recognition and feel consistent across many touchpoints — from menus and signage to social media, advertising, photography and in-venue collateral.
For Criniti’s, the brand also needed to balance two different qualities: the emotional warmth of an Italian family dining experience and the commercial strength of a multi-location restaurant group. The identity had to feel generous, confident and full of life, while still being disciplined enough to roll out across a growing business.
The Approach
We developed a refreshed brand identity and visual language that honoured the energy of Criniti’s while giving the business a stronger platform for expansion.
The creative direction focused on appetite, abundance and personality. Rather than creating a restrained restaurant identity, we leaned into the scale and spirit of the brand — generous food, big celebrations, family gatherings and the theatre of Italian dining.
The visual system was designed to work across multiple formats, including brand guidelines, marketing collateral, outdoor advertising, social media creative, photography and video direction. This gave Criniti’s a consistent but flexible toolkit for promoting venues, menus, offers, events and seasonal campaigns.
The brand needed to be highly practical as well as expressive. Every element had to support the commercial realities of a busy hospitality business: attracting new customers, promoting locations, building campaign recognition and keeping the dining experience front of mind.
Hospitality Brand Rollout
The refreshed identity was rolled out across a broad range of brand and marketing applications.
We created design systems and collateral that could be used across venue marketing, social channels, outdoor media and customer-facing communications. The work helped give Criniti’s a more consistent presence while still allowing the brand to remain energetic, expressive and food-led.
Photography and video direction were also important parts of the project. For a restaurant group with such a generous menu and strong social dining proposition, imagery needed to do more than document the food. It needed to capture appetite, scale, movement and the sense of occasion that defines the Criniti’s experience.
The result was a brand world that could stretch across family dining, birthdays, group bookings, casual meals, events and campaigns, while still feeling recognisably Criniti’s.
The Outcome
The rebrand gave Criniti’s a stronger, more polished and more commercially useful hospitality identity.
It helped the business present itself with greater consistency across customer touchpoints, while preserving the warmth, energy and sense of family that made the brand successful in the first place.
For Ludbrook Agency, the project is a strong example of hospitality branding that goes beyond a logo. A restaurant brand has to live across menus, campaigns, signage, photography, social media and the customer experience itself. It has to make people hungry, make the venue memorable and give the business a flexible system it can keep using as it grows.
