LUCHETTI KRELLE

Website design and development for one of Australia’s most respected hospitality interior design studios.

Luchetti Krelle is one of Australia’s most highly regarded hospitality interior design studios, known for restaurants, bars and hotels that combine bold concepts with refined detail. Founded by Rachel Luchetti and Stuart Krelle, the Sydney practice has created an extensive body of work in Australia and internationally, with projects regularly featured in leading design and hospitality publications.

Ludbrook Agency was engaged to design and build a website that could do justice to the scale and diversity of the studio’s portfolio. The brief was not simply to present a collection of interiors, but to create a distinctive digital archive in which every project could retain its own visual identity while remaining part of a coherent studio story.

The resulting website places photography at the centre of the experience, supported by clear project categories, restrained navigation and a substantial News archive documenting the studio’s awards and editorial coverage. It has continued to grow with the practice and remains an important introduction to Luchetti Krelle for prospective clients, collaborators and the international design press.

The Challenge

Luchetti Krelle had built an exceptional body of work across restaurants, bars, hotels and other hospitality environments in Australia and overseas. Their portfolio was extensive, visually rich and deliberately varied: no two projects followed a house style, yet each carried the studio’s flair for bold concepts, theatrical detail and carefully considered hospitality experiences.

The website needed to organise this breadth of work without reducing it to a conventional project directory. It also had to express the standing of a highly regarded design practice, give photography the space it deserved and make a large volume of material easy to explore.

THE APPROACH

We designed the site around the work itself. A restrained visual framework allows each project to establish its own mood, colour and character, while consistent typography, navigation and page structures hold the portfolio together.

Projects were organised into clear hospitality categories, including Drink + Dine, Play and Sleep. This gave prospective clients, editors and collaborators a quick way to find relevant work without imposing rigid divisions on a diverse practice. Individual project pages were kept image-led, with enough supporting information to establish the venue, location and project type without competing with the interiors.

The Website

The custom WordPress website was built to support a substantial and continually growing archive. Luchetti Krelle’s team can add new projects, publish press coverage, record awards and update studio information while maintaining the structure and visual consistency of the original design.

The News section brings together editorial coverage, project announcements and industry recognition from publications and awards programs in Australia and internationally. Mailchimp integration supports the studio’s subscriber communications, while search and filtering make an extensive collection of projects and press material easier to manage and explore.

The Outcome

The finished website presents Luchetti Krelle as the established, highly awarded design practice it is: confident, distinctive and defined by the quality of its work rather than unnecessary decoration.

It has continued to grow with the studio, accommodating hundreds of projects alongside a substantial record of awards and editorial coverage. The site also remains a strong source of referral traffic for the Ludbrook Agency. Its discreet website credit regularly brings us enquiries from businesses that discover our work through Luchetti Krelle’s portfolio—an indication that a well-made website can serve both its client and the creative partnership behind it.
